ABSTRACT

COMPENSATION AND INSTITUTIONAL CARE OF THE HANDLERS OF THE PORT COMPANY OF BEJAIA: A SOCIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS

The transformation of companies in todayʼs world is accompanied by an increase in the number of constraints causing occupational risks, namely: accidents at work and occupational diseases. In this article we will explain how institutions such as the social benefits department, the National Fund for Social Insurance for Salaried Workers (CNAS), the health, safety and working conditions committee, the occupational physician and the labour inspectorate take care of workers' compensation. For the scientific dimension to our research come, we have opted for a thematic analysis, which, in a way, breaks down the singularity of the discourse and transversely, those which, from one interview to the next, refer to the same theme. As a result, the thematic analysis is consistent with the implementation of explanatory models of practices or representations. Based on our field investigation, we opted for the qualitative method which is more adequate to gather the necessary information, and is likely to allow us to deepen and understand our study.

Keywords: Compensation; occupational risks; occupational diseases; labour inspection; occupational physician.
