ON UNDERSTANDING AND USING THE CONCEPTS AND METHODS OF SOCIOLOGY WITHIN THE ROMANIAN MASS MEDIA
This research paper studies the way in which the concepts and methods of Sociology are understood and, eventually, used within the Romanian media and, by extension, within the entire local public space. The data were collected by interacting with one hundred journalists from the central mass-media in Romania. Both quantitative and qualitative methods of research were used, and the balanced conclusions reflect a desynchronization between the professional category of journalists and the one of sociologists.
