ABSTRACT

PANDEMIC AND SOCIETY. COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN THE VIEWS OF PSYCHOSOCIOLOGY

The study of individual and collective reactions to pandemy, in terms of vulnerabilities and therefore resilience, involves a re-evaluation of the relationship between civilization and human condition. Resilience to a challenge such as the current coronavirus pandemic depends to a large extent on the civilizational shaping of man and society. Modern civilization has moved significantly away from its Judeo-Christian foundations so that between the traditional and modern man's pattern there have occured fractures that influence how to address the health and disease, crises and other types of collective threats such as that of pandemics. In this paper, I will examine the relationship between modern civilization background and the pandemic cheallenges  in order to understand the vulnerabilities of individual and collective reaction to the current pandemy of covid-19.

Keywords: covid-19, vulnerabil man, nocebo effect, social media wave, noopatic disturbances.
